A Pharmaceutical Tablet Die is a precision-engineered component used in tablet compression machines to shape and size pharmaceutical tablets. It works in combination with punches to compress powdered material into a solid dosage form (tablet).

🧩 What is a Tablet Die?

• A die is a metal mold cavity that defines the shape, diameter, and edge profile of the tablet.

• The upper and lower punches compress the powder inside the die cavity to form a tablet.

⚙️ Tablet Tooling Components

1. Upper Punch – Compresses from the top

2. Lower Punch – Compresses from the bottom and ejects the tablet

3. Die – Houses the powdered material and defines the tablet’s shape

These three together form what's known as a "tooling set".
